Lyon revives Endrick pursuit, Brazilian striker limited to four minutes under Mourinho
According to Spanish radio Cadena Ser, Lyon is ready to attempt another winter loan for Endrick, the 20-year-old Real Madrid striker who has played only four minutes this season under José Mourinho.
Lyon is targeting Endrick again for the January winter transfer window, according to Cadena Ser. The young Brazilian striker from Real Madrid, aged 20, has accumulated just four minutes of playing time this season under José Mourinho’s management, which strengthens the hypothesis of a loan departure.
The path is not new for Lyon. Last season, the Rhône club had already secured Endrick on loan for six months, with a remarkable record: eight goals and eight assists in 21 matches. A collaboration deemed successful by both sides, which Lyon had attempted to renew last summer, without success.
Unable to extend this summer collaboration, the Lyon management then turned to Loïs Openda, loaned by Juventus without a purchase option for €3.5 million. The former Lens player now occupies the number nine position, but interest in Endrick remains intact according to the Spanish radio.
Competition is expected to be fierce, however. Roma and Aston Villa are also reportedly among the interested clubs, with potentially superior financial resources to those of Lyon. Michele Kang’s club will therefore need to be convincing to win this deal, especially since the winter transfer window will not officially open until January 1st.
