Knee Injury: Khéphren Thuram Facing Extended Absence at Juventus

Khéphren Thuram could miss several months at Juventus due to a knee injury sustained at the end of last season. The 25-year-old French international, who did not participate in the 2026 World Cup with France, will consult a specialist in Lyon to determine the next steps — surgery or extended rest.

Lilian Thuram’s son had already missed the entire Turin preseason. Present on the bench during the first Serie A matchday against Frosinone (0-1), he was not actually fit to play and was subsequently excluded from the squad for the home match against Parma (2-0). The Old Lady’s staff is following his condition with serious concern.

Facing this unavailability, Juventus has revived the Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg option. According to Tuttosport, the 31-year-old Danish midfielder, a key player at Olympique de Marseille and the club’s highest-paid player (500,000 euros per month), is of strong interest to Luciano Spalletti. Marseille, seeking to reduce its wage bill, would not be opposed to his departure. Pape Matar Sarr, unwanted at Tottenham, is also being monitored for a loan.

In the meantime, Juventus can rely on Weston McKennie, Douglas Luiz, Manuel Locatelli and Teun Koopmeiners in midfield. The Turin club, competing in the Ligue Europa this season, faces notably Stade Rennais on October 22 in Piedmont.
