Jacobo Ramón has no interest in returning to Real Madrid right now, choosing instead to protect his status as a regular starter at Como in Serie A, according to a report from Diario AS. The centre-back left the Bernabéu for the Italian club in the summer of 2025 for €2.5 million and has since established himself as a consistent presence in their back line.

Real Madrid had considered Ramón as a candidate for their fourth centre-back slot heading into this season, but the defender opted to stay in Italy rather than compete for limited minutes in one of Europe’s most stacked squads. The logic mirrors the trajectory of at least one other Madrid academy product who made the same journey to Como and flourished there, with regular Serie A football proving a more attractive proposition than a supporting role at the Bernabéu.

The report stops short of suggesting Ramón has permanently closed the door on a Madrid return. His position, for now, is simply that there is no compelling reason to disrupt a run of games that has helped him grow into a reliable centre-back at the top level.

Real Madrid retain 50% of Ramón’s transfer rights from the original sale — a structure the club has increasingly built into permanent deals involving young players. That clause gives Los Blancos the option to act on his development at a later stage, though the specific terms were not disclosed. They are not the only club watching.
