Ikitau and Suaalii return to bolster Wallabies squad for two-Test Argentina tour
Australia's 2025 John Eales Medal winner Len Ikitau has recovered from an ankle injury to join Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii in a 34-man Wallabies squad for Tests against Argentina, with coach Les Kiss warning the tour presents 'another tough challenge'.
Len Ikitau and Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii have both been recalled to a 34-man Wallabies squad for two Tests against Argentina, with coach Les Kiss naming a largely settled group as Australia prepares to tour South America for the Flight Centre Series.
Ikitau, who claimed the 2025 John Eales Medal, missed both matches against Japan after suffering an ankle injury, while Suaalii was also absent from the Townsville Test. Australia won that fixture 56-17, having edged Japan 35-32 in Osaka in the opening match of the Kiss coaching era.
The squad is composed of 19 forwards and 15 backs. Massimo De Lutiis, who became Wallaby number 1000 with a try-scoring debut last weekend, retains his place, while lock Miles Amatosero is absent due to suspension. Former NRL player Zac Lomax, La Rochelle lock Will Skelton, and Western Force scrum-half Henry Robertson — yet to earn his first cap — are among 11 players unavailable for selection.
The squad will assemble in Sydney on Saturday before departing for Buenos Aires on Sunday.
“As coaches we’ve looked to maintain consistency in selection with the bulk of this squad having laid a solid foundation over the past few weeks, through their hard work and connection on and off the field,” Kiss said.
“Touring Argentina presents another tough challenge for us as a new group, and it’s one that we know will require us to go to another level as we continue to look to build and develop our game.”
Harry Wilson captains the side, with the Queensland Reds back-rower leading a forward pack that includes veterans Allan Alaalatoa, Taniela Tupou, and Rob Valetini alongside several players still building their Test experience.
