Henry Pollock signs multi-year deal to stay at boyhood club Northampton

Henry Pollock has signed a new multi-year contract with Northampton Saints, ending months of speculation about whether the 21-year-old would leave his boyhood club at the end of the current season.

The England and British & Irish Lions back-rower, whose commercial agent Eddie Hearn had valued him at £1 million, attracted significant interest from rival clubs but has chosen to remain with the reigning Gallagher Premiership champions.

Pollock has already accumulated a remarkable résumé for his age: 49 appearances for Saints, 13 England caps, a Lions tour, and a Premiership winners’ medal secured last season.

“I’m massively happy to re-sign with Saints, my boyhood club,” Pollock said. “It’s an exciting place to be right now. We’re in a great spot as a team, but it feels like there’s still so much more growth in us.”

The back-rower pointed to the club’s young squad and collective ambition as key factors in his decision. “I’m still young, and we’ve got a young squad with a brilliant group of lads. Some of my best mates are here, and every day everyone pushes each other to improve and be the best players and team we can be. For where I am in my career, this is exactly where I want to be.”

Pollock also outlined the targets that motivated him to stay, with European glory firmly in his sights. “We won the PREM last season and we want to go again. Winning the Champions Cup is another huge ambition for us. We came so close a couple of years ago, and achieving that together would be incredibly special.”
