Gouiri scores quick brace as Algeria crushes Bolivia 4-0 ahead of World Cup
In Kansas City, Algeria dominated Bolivia 4-0 in its final World Cup warm-up match. Amine Gouiri scored a brace in two minutes, with Mandi and Hadj Moussa completing the rout.
Algeria concluded its World Cup preparation with a commanding 4-0 victory over Bolivia in a closed-door match in Kansas City — the city where the Fennecs will play two of their three group matches.
Long held in check, Algeria broke the deadlock just before half-time through Aïssa Mandi. After the interval, Vladimir Petkovic completely reshuffled his team, and the response was immediate: three goals in barely five minutes settled the contest.
Amine Gouiri was the standout performer, scoring a brace in two minutes. His first goal, in the 56th minute, came from a superb strike. Anis Hadj Moussa, already the decisive goalscorer in the victory over the Netherlands (0-1) in Rotterdam the previous week, sealed the win shortly after the hour mark from a Ramiz Zerrouki assist, confirming his excellent current form.
This success, the second consecutive victory following the win in the Netherlands — marked by Luca Zidane’s outstanding display — gives the Fennecs added confidence heading into the World Cup. Drawn in Group J, Algeria will begin its World Cup campaign with a clash against Argentina in the night of next Tuesday to Wednesday, before facing Jordan on June 25 and Austria on June 28.
