George Bridge heads overseas again as Western Force confirm six departures
Western Force have confirmed six players will leave the club at the end of the 2026 Super Rugby season, headlined by former All Blacks winger George Bridge, who is set for a second overseas stint after just one season in Perth.
Former All Blacks winger George Bridge is among six players departing Western Force at the close of the 2026 Super Rugby season, with the 31-year-old set to move abroad for the second time in his career. His destination club has not yet been confirmed.
Bridge earned 19 caps for New Zealand and spent three seasons at Montpellier between 2022 and 2025 before returning to Super Rugby with the Force for the 2026 campaign. He featured in all but one match, operating predominantly at outside centre rather than his customary wing.
Two one-cap Wallabies are also among the departures. Winger Darcy Lancaster, who scored four tries in five games before a season-ending ankle injury against the Reds in Round 8, has accepted a deal elsewhere. Lancaster won his only Test cap against Georgia in 2024 and had previously been linked with Leicester.
Prop Harry Johnson-Holmes rounds out the notable exits. The forward overcame long-term Achilles and ACL injuries to play every game in the 2026 season, reaching the milestone of 100 Super Rugby caps during the Round 10 victory over the Crusaders.
Utility back Max Burey has also signed elsewhere, while Tongan tight-head Feao Fotuaika and back-rower Titi Nofoagatotoa complete the list of players leaving the Perth-based club.
