Fijian Drua spread 2027 home fixtures across three venues to fuel national pride
Fijian Drua have confirmed all eight home venues for the 2027 Super Rugby Pacific season, splitting matches between Suva, Ba and Lautoka. CEO Jeff Miller says the campaign is "about national pride" as new head coach Brad Mooar prepares for his first season in charge.
Fijian Drua have locked in their home schedule for the 2027 Super Rugby Pacific season, spreading all eight fixtures across three Fijian venues as CEO Jeff Miller frames the campaign as a statement of national identity.
Suva’s HFC Bank Stadium will host three matches, including visits from defending champions the Hurricanes, the Queensland Reds and the Crusaders. Four R Stadium in Ba will stage three fixtures, opening with a round one clash against the Highlanders on February 13. Churchill Park in Lautoka will host the remaining two home games, with the Blues and ACT Brumbies scheduled to visit.
Notably absent from the Fiji leg of the draw are the Chiefs, who have been beaten in each of the last four Super Rugby Pacific Grand Finals. The Hurricanes, Highlanders, Reds, Blues, Western Force, Brumbies, Crusaders and NSW Waratahs will all make the trip during the 17-week regular season.
“Bringing our fixtures across Suva, Lautoka and Ba means taking top-tier rugby directly into our communities,” Miller said. “Every home venue is a fortress for us because our fans make it so. This season is about more than 80 minutes on the field — it is about national pride, inspiring the next generation and showing Fiji’s ability to take on the best in the world.”
The announcement coincides with the Drua’s confirmation of Brad Mooar as their new head coach ahead of the 2027 campaign. The New Zealander arrives with considerable pedigree, having spent six seasons as an assistant at the Crusaders — contributing to four title-winning campaigns — before serving two years under Ian Foster with the All Blacks. Mooar has signed a two-year deal with the club.
“It’s fantastic to have our home venues locked in and we are incredibly excited to play in front of our home crowd eight times this season,” Mooar said. “To our fans, your support means everything to us, whether you are singing in the stands in Fiji or cheering from home.”
Mooar’s appointment signals a new era for the Drua as they look to build on their growing reputation as one of Super Rugby Pacific’s most formidable home sides, with Miller calling on supporters to make Fiji “one of the toughest away trips in the sport.”
