Fernandez defends BKB super cruiserweight title as bare knuckle boxing makes its Mexico debut

Bare Knuckle Boxing lands in Mexico for the first time on September 19, headlining BKB 59 at the Auditorio Municipal in Tijuana with two world championship bouts on the card.

Julian “El Guerrero Mexicano” Fernandez will put his BKB super cruiserweight championship on the line against Dan “Big Pod” Podmore, a former three-division titleholder, in the main event. The matchup pits a hometown favourite against one of the most decorated champions in the promotion’s history.

The co-main event carries its own title stakes: Cecy Ulloa and Andy “The CrAsian” Nguyen will contest the vacant BKB super flyweight championship, giving the card a second belt to fight for on what is a landmark night for the promotion.

The event is being staged in partnership with Zanfer Boxing, one of Mexico’s most established promotional outfits, and will feature seven bouts on the main card alongside five additional matchups streamed on TikTok Live.

The full main card is as follows: Fernandez vs. Podmore headlines, followed by Ulloa vs. Nguyen at super flyweight. Romario Ovalle meets Marco Chino Villa at super middleweight, Pablo Felipe Anguiano faces Ricardo Ramses Rueda at cruiserweight, Adrian Gonzalez takes on Javier Santiago Valverde and Felipe Abraham Huerta meets Erick Eduardo Soria at lightweight, and Jonathan Duran clashes with Kevin Millan Sanchez at heavyweight.

The TikTok Live undercard features Jesus Navarrete vs. Jose Munoz at heavyweight, Jovani Misael Sanchez vs. Ramon Olivas at super heavyweight, Sergio Zarate vs. Rolando Paredes and Jesus Rodriguez vs. Ricardo Ibarra at super middleweight and super welterweight respectively, and Eduardo Pineda Gonzalez vs. Mauricio Anaya rounding out the card.
