Extended Until 2030, Luis Enrique Becomes World's Third-Highest Paid Manager
Paris Saint-Germain has officially extended Luis Enrique's contract until June 2030 with a salary increase to €20 million gross per year. The Spanish manager now ranks third globally in earnings, behind Simone Inzaghi and Diego Simeone.
Luis Enrique is now tied to Paris Saint-Germain until June 2030, after the capital club officially confirmed his contract extension alongside five others. According to L’Équipe, the Spanish manager will earn approximately €20 million gross per year, eight million more than under his previous deal.
This salary increase places Luis Enrique third among the world’s highest-paid managers. Only Simone Inzaghi, who recently joined Al-Hilal for approximately €27 million annually, and Diego Simeone, still in charge at Atlético de Madrid for around €24 million, rank ahead of him.
The extension comes in a mixed sporting context: PSG had just suffered a 1-2 defeat to AS Monaco in an advanced match of Ligue 1’s third matchday at the time of the announcement. Nevertheless, it rewards Luis Enrique’s overall solid record at the helm of the Paris club, crowned by two Ligue des Champions titles.
Behind the top three, Mikel Arteta (Arsenal) sits fourth with approximately €17 million per year, followed by Xabi Alonso (Chelsea) and Oliver Glasner (Nottingham Forest), both estimated at €15 million. Enzo Maresca (Manchester City), Roberto De Zerbi (Tottenham) and José Mourinho (Real Madrid) round out the ranking of football’s best-paid managers.
