England U18 Women name 67-player squad for opening camp of new season
England's Under-18 Women's programme kicks off with a four-day training camp at the University of Nottingham from 16–19 October, bringing together 67 players from all nine RFU Player Development Group sites.
England Under-18 Women have named a 67-player squad for the first camp of the new season, with the group set to gather at the University of Nottingham from Friday 16 October to Monday 19 October.
Split into forwards and backs, the players will take part in positional meetings, on-field training sessions, unit meetings, strength and conditioning work and educational workshops across the four days. All nine of the RFU’s Player Development Group sites are represented in the selection, which was announced shortly after regional training earlier in October.
Fourteen players in the group carry previous England U18 caps: Holly Bagnowiec, Zara Barringer, Scarlett Beech, Rosalyn Civil, Alice Fleming, Hannah Foley, Beth Hall, Mali Hill, Christal Koroiyadi, Eva Larkai, Isabella Lyndon, Maisie Trotman, Rowan Turney and Charlie Williams.
Head coach James Cooper welcomed the opportunity to bring the squad together for the first time this season. “The opening camp is always an exciting opportunity for players to showcase their abilities, build new connections and embrace the standards and expectations of the England pathway,” he said.
“We have a talented group of young players coming into the programme and this camp will be an important first step in their development. We’re looking forward to seeing the players challenge themselves, learn from the coaching team and enjoy representing England Rugby.”
The squad will reconvene in December for a three-day camp at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre as the programme builds towards the next phase of the season.
