Morgan Gibbs-White is weighing up his future at Nottingham Forest and could push for a move away from the City Ground next summer, according to Football Insider. The 26-year-old attacking midfielder, who captains Forest and is their highest-paid player, has attracted interest from several leading Premier League clubs.

The report, citing sources close to the player, states that Gibbs-White is content to remain at Forest provided they secure European football again — but is likely to seek a move if they do not. An opportunity to compete at elite European level would be “hard to ignore” for the player, according to the same sources.

Gibbs-White’s contract runs until the summer of 2028, though the report notes an “element of uncertainty” around his deal after Forest could only persuade him to sign a three-year extension last summer. That came after a turbulent window in which Tottenham Hotspur triggered a £60 million release clause in his previous contract, prompting a furious response from the club and owner Evangelos Marinakis, the threat of legal action, and ultimately a dramatic non-departure.

The renewed speculation follows Gibbs-White’s belated call-up to the current England squad after a string of withdrawals through injury. He had been widely regarded as the most glaring omission from Thomas Tuchel’s original 27-man selection. The midfielder had previously earned six senior caps — two under interim boss Lee Carsley and four under Tuchel — but had not featured for the Three Lions since last October.

His form for Forest this season has been difficult to ignore. Gibbs-White started all five Premier League matches before the international break, contributing one goal and two assists across Forest’s four league goals.
