After France’s victory over Morocco in the World Cup quarter-finals (2-0) at Gillette Stadium, Didier Deschamps reunited with his loved ones in the stands. Among them was his son Dylan, accompanied by the woman he married last summer: Mathilde Cappelaere.
Born in 1998, Mathilde Cappelaere met Dylan Deschamps at Edhec Business School. She currently holds the position of major accounts manager at CWF, a company specializing in textiles, and is co-founder of Capp Travel Expérience, a luxury tourism travel agency.
The couple had been engaged for nearly eighteen months before getting married. To announce their engagement, Dylan Deschamps posted a message accompanied by a diamond and rose petals: “After being together for almost 7 years… it happened, a new chapter of our life 06.05.24”.
The wedding celebration took place in two stages. A first celebration was held in late August in Nice, followed by three days of festivities on the shores of Lake Como in late September. Didier Deschamps distinguished himself both through his speech and his performances on the dance floor, performing I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor — the unofficial anthem of the 1998 World Cup — and C’est Marseille Bébé by the group Bande Organisée.
The presence of the coach’s loved ones at Gillette Stadium came in a particular context: by reaching the semi-finals, Deschamps became the coach who has directed the most matches in the World Cup, with 25 matches, surpassing a record that now belongs to him alone.
