Désiré Doué is going through turbulent times at Paris Saint-Germain, but the club has no intention of parting with him. Left on the bench during the trip to Slovan Bratislava in the Ligue des Champions, then limited to 24 minutes against Brest in the league, the 21-year-old winger is going through a difficult spell under Luis Enrique’s management.

The Spanish coach has at times criticized him for excessive individualism, and the former Rennes player is no longer as indispensable in the Paris lineup as he once was. Nevertheless, PSG’s management is not questioning his future in the capital.

Currently under contract until 2029, Doué has been offered a two or three-year extension, according to L’Équipe. The new deal would come with a salary increase described as “significant” by the management, “in order to remunerate him in line with his importance to the team”. The French international currently earns 500,000 euros gross per month.

This move is part of a proactive contract policy now well established at PSG. The club had previously extended Portuguese midfielder João Neves until 2031 after just one year in the red and blue shirt. Ousmane Dembélé and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia are also reportedly close to extending their Paris adventure.

For his part, Doué has reportedly clearly expressed his desire to commit to PSG long-term. It remains to be seen whether improved form and playing time will accompany the signing of this new contract.
