Yan Diomande has handed Paris Saint-Germain a significant advantage in the race for his signature after publicly declaring his love for the French club, even as Liverpool and several other European heavyweights circle the RB Leipzig winger. The 19-year-old, who won the Bundesliga Rookie of the Season award after scoring 12 goals and providing nine assists in 33 appearances, is valued at €130 million by Leipzig heading into the summer window.

“Paris Saint-Germain is a team I’ve loved since I was a child,” Diomande told L’Equipe. “My father supports Paris Saint-Germain, and it’s a team I admire as a football fan. It would be a pleasure for me to come and play here with one of the biggest clubs.”

The Ivory Coast international was careful not to force a move, however, adding: “I don’t think I’m looking ahead to the future or focusing on anything else. As I’ve said, I remain focused on the World Cup. After that, the clubs will sort things out between themselves and we’ll see what happens next.”

Liverpool are believed to have already made contact with Leipzig over a potential deal, with the club facing an urgent rebuild under new head coach Andoni Iraola. Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, and Ibrahima Konaté have all confirmed their departures from Anfield, leaving the club in need of significant reinforcements — particularly out wide.

Diomande joined Leipzig last summer after his €20 million release clause was activated from his Spanish club. His rapid development has since pushed his market value to €90 million according to Transfermarkt, though Leipzig’s asking price is reportedly considerably higher at €130 million.

Beyond Liverpool and PSG, both Manchester United and Manchester City, as well as Bayern Munich, have been linked with the teenager, setting the stage for one of the summer’s most competitive transfer pursuits. Diomande’s comments will do little to dampen speculation, even if he insists his immediate focus remains on the World Cup.
