Dana White lost a $10,000 bet after influencer Bob Menery defied expectations and turned up to fight at Brand Risk 14, Adin Ross’ influencer MMA event — only to be knocked out in the first round by former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel.

White had staked the money on Menery failing to appear at all, telling Fred Talks Fighting that he remained unconvinced right up until Menery stepped through the ropes. “I absolutely positively did not think he would show up, and he did,” White said. “Much respect to Bob for showing up.”

Despite the financial hit, White acknowledged that the fight itself played out exactly as he had anticipated if Menery did compete. The UFC president was less charitable about the circumstances surrounding the bout, claiming Menery was removed from the Red Rock Casino in a heavily intoxicated state just hours before the event. “The guy got kicked out of Red Rock Casino at 4 a.m. in the morning, s—faced drunk,” White said.

White added that he has no interest in watching Menery fight again. The two have a prior connection: White has known Menery since his time as a member of the Nelk Boys, the YouTube collective Menery departed following a falling out last year.

Manziel, who played quarterback in the NFL before a career derailed by off-field issues, secured the first-round finish to claim the headline result of the influencer card.
