Cole Palmer signs new Chelsea contract to keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2034
Cole Palmer has extended his Chelsea contract by 12 months, committing to the club until 2034. The 24-year-old, who has 91 goal contributions in 138 appearances, confirmed the deal live on stream.
Cole Palmer has signed a new contract with Chelsea that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2034, the club confirmed. The England international was already under contract for seven years but has extended his stay by a further 12 months, with Chelsea also improving his terms in recognition of his status as one of their most important players.
Palmer, 24, announced the news himself during a livestream, telling fans: “Well, I just signed a new contract about 20 minutes ago, so I’m staying for eight more years. I’m really happy to sign a new contract and share with you guys and I look forward to eight more years.”
In a separate statement on Chelsea’s official website, Palmer spoke about his belief in the club’s direction. “Chelsea means a lot to me and I think the club is going in the right direction, so I’m delighted to sign,” he said. “Speaking to the owners, to the sporting directors and obviously the manager, they gave me a lot of confidence so it was only right to sign. I feel like we win major trophies here consistently and I want to be a part of that and play a big role in it too.”
Since joining Chelsea from Manchester City in August 2023, Palmer has accumulated 91 goal contributions across 138 appearances and has won both the UEFA Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup. He scored twice and assisted Joao Pedro in the Club World Cup final victory over Paris Saint-Germain, and also contributed two assists in the Conference League final win over Real Betis.
Palmer has also made his mark on the international stage, becoming only the second England player to score in a European Championship final when he netted against Spain at Euro 2024. At club level last season, his contributions included a goal against Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League and a hat-trick away to Wolves.
Chelsea’s statement described Palmer as “one of the world’s finest attacking players” and underlined that the new deal reflects his central role in the club’s long-term ambitions.
