Bryce Mitchell faces undefeated Santiago Luna at UFC Vegas 118 after late change
Bryce Mitchell will now fight undefeated prospect Santiago Luna (8-0) on the main card of UFC Vegas 118 this Saturday in Las Vegas, after Victor Henry withdrew for undisclosed reasons. Luna, 21, steps in on nine days' notice having finished his first UFC opponent inside a round.
Bryce Mitchell’s scheduled opponent at UFC Vegas 118 has changed, with undefeated 21-year-old Santiago Luna (8-0) stepping in on nine days’ notice to replace Victor Henry, who withdrew for undisclosed reasons. The UFC confirmed the bout will remain on the main card of Saturday’s Fight Night event at the Apex in Las Vegas.
Luna is one of the more intriguing young prospects on the UFC roster. In his octagon debut he knocked out Quang Le inside a round, then followed that up with a lopsided decision over Angel Pacheco in February 2025. Seven of his eight professional wins have come by KO/TKO or submission, earning him the nickname “Border Boy” and a reputation as a finisher.
Mitchell (18-3) arrives off the back of a unanimous decision win over Said Nurmagomedov at UFC Abu Dhabi in July 2025 — a result that marked his successful debut at bantamweight after a lengthy career at featherweight. The Arkansas native has alternated wins and losses across his last seven fights, making consistency the central question heading into this matchup.
The change in opponent shifts the dynamic of the bout considerably. Henry, a veteran with significant UFC experience, would have represented a very different stylistic challenge than the unbeaten and aggressively finishing Luna. For Mitchell, a loss to an 8-0 prospect would be damaging; for Luna, a win over a recognisable name on a main card could accelerate his rise through the division.
UFC Vegas 118 is headlined by a welterweight contest between former UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad and Gabriel Bonfim. The main card also features Brendan Allen vs. Edmen Shahbazyan and Fares Ziam vs. Tom Nolan.
