Bryan Battle and Dalton Rosta will meet in the main event of PFL Charlotte at the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina, on August 7, the Professional Fighters League announced Wednesday. The 185-pound clash tops a card that also features two other confirmed middleweight bouts: Joshua Silveira vs. Aaron Jeffery and Josh Fremd vs. Jhony Gregory.

Battle arrives at the bout carrying momentum from a strong UFC run — seven wins and one loss across eight fights, plus one no contest — but persistent weight-cutting issues ultimately led him to leave the promotion. He signed with PFL last year and made his organisational debut at PFL Pittsburgh on March 28, where former middleweight champion Johnny Eblen submitted him in the first round.

Rosta, who trains out of American Top Team, has gone 2-2 under the PFL banner and is currently riding a two-fight losing streak. At PFL Pittsburgh earlier this year, Impa Kasanganay stopped him by first-round KO, a result that followed a knockout defeat to Fabian Edwards last August. Before that skid, “Hercules” had won 11 of his first 12 professional bouts, underlining how sharply his fortunes have turned.

With both fighters desperate to arrest a slide, the matchup carries genuine stakes for each man’s standing in the PFL middleweight division. A loss for either would deepen questions about their trajectory at 185 pounds, while a win could serve as a credible springboard back toward title contention.
