Bellingham agrees five-year Real Madrid extension to keep him at club until 2031
Jude Bellingham has reached an agreement with Real Madrid on a contract extension through 30 June 2031, adding two years to his existing deal, according to Fabrizio Romano. The club has yet to make a formal announcement.
Jude Bellingham has agreed a five-year contract extension with Real Madrid that would keep the England midfielder at the club until 30 June 2031, according to Fabrizio Romano. The deal has not yet been officially confirmed by Real Madrid, making a formal club announcement the remaining step.
Bellingham joined Madrid from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2023 on a contract running until June 2029. The reported extension adds two years to that original agreement and includes an improved wage package, according to Goal, citing Diario AS. Those reports also indicate that discussions began towards the end of last season and progressed without significant difficulty.
The renewal forms part of a broader effort by Madrid to lock down their young midfield core on long-term deals. The club has already secured extended contracts for Arda Güler and Aurélien Tchouaméni, and Bellingham’s reported agreement would further cement continuity at the centre of the team.
Bellingham has been described in Spanish reports as a key midfielder and a dressing-room leader who has returned to the form he showed in his debut season in Spain after a period affected by physical problems. Under José Mourinho, he has been given freedom to operate behind Kylian Mbappé, contributing both in attack and in the press. His current league return stands at three goals and three assists this campaign.
His role and responsibilities within Mourinho’s system have been cited as relevant context for a renewal that would keep him at the Bernabéu through the end of the decade. The extension, once officially confirmed, would represent one of the most significant long-term commitments in Madrid’s recent squad planning.
Until Real Madrid make a formal announcement, the agreement remains at the reported stage. The club’s confirmation is the outstanding milestone before Bellingham’s new deal is considered complete.
