Beauden Barrett returns at fullback as All Blacks name all three Barrett brothers to face Wallabies

Beauden Barrett will start at fullback for the All Blacks in their Test against the Wallabies at Eden Park, with selectors forced into a reshuffle after Richie Mo’unga was ruled out with a hamstring tear. Regular fullback Damian McKenzie shifts to the No.10 jersey to cover Mo’unga’s absence, while the 145-Test veteran Barrett slots in at the back.

The selection means all three Barrett brothers — Beauden, Jordie and Scott — will start together once again. Jordie lines up at inside centre in the No.12 jersey, while lock Scott Barrett returns to the All Blacks starting XV for the first time this year.

With captain Ardie Savea sidelined through injury, hooker Codie Taylor takes over the armband and starts in the front row alongside Ethan de Groot and Fletcher Newell. The back row features a new combination of Tupou Vaa’i at blindside, Peter Lakai at openside and Wallace Sititi at No.8.

Centre Rieko Ioane, who impressed during the mid-week games in South Africa, earns his first Test appearance of 2026 from the bench in the No.22 jersey. Shannon Frizell also returns to the squad after being named among the replacements, alongside fellow loose forward Anton Segner.

Crusaders utility back Chay Fihaki was drafted into the wider squad as injury cover following the absences of Mo’unga and Fehi Fineanganofo.
