Bayern Munich could include €150-250m release clause in Olise's new contract

Bayern Munich would be ready to include a release clause between €150 and €250 million in Michael Olise’s next contract, according to journalist Christian Falk, a specialist on the Bavarian club. The French international winger, who arrived in Munich in 2024, has not yet extended his deal and his salary remains below that of Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala.

Last summer, several media outlets had reported interest from Real Madrid in Olise. The Merengues ultimately directed their recruitment towards Yan Diomandé, but the Frenchman’s contractual situation at Bayern remains unresolved. An extension with a release clause would constitute, according to Falk, an acceptable compromise for both parties: Olise would obtain a salary increase and a formalized exit route, while the club would secure a substantial fee in case of departure.

“At one time, Bayern Munich was very proud to have no release clauses in its contracts. But last year, there were quite a few and it has become the norm in Munich,” Falk explains. He notably cites Jamal Musiala, whose current contract would already contain such a provision. “This could therefore be an option for Michael Olise if he signs a new contract.”

On the amount, the journalist is precise: “I think Bayern Munich would accept a release clause as long as we’re talking about sums like €150 million, €200 million or €250 million.” He adds that “any clause possibly included in the winger’s contract will be very high,” and that it would allow the club to “have a considerable sum to invest in a successor” if it were to be activated.

The matter therefore remains open, with no precise timeline announced for negotiations.
