Bayern Munich dominated RB Leipzig 6-1 in Matchday 6 of the Bundesliga, with a hat-trick from Luis Diaz and goals from Pavlovic, Olise and Kane. The Bavarians move to the top of the championship level with Dortmund.
Bayern Munich crushed RB Leipzig 6-1 on Saturday in Matchday 6 of the Bundesliga, moving to the top of the German championship thanks to a collective display at the Allianz Arena.
Luis Diaz was the man of the match with a hat-trick, while Pavlovic, Michael Olise and Harry Kane each contributed to the Bavarian offensive festival. Only Maksimovic salvaged RB Leipzig’s honour in added time, reducing the score to 6-1.
This resounding victory comes four days after a European stumble: Bayern had been held to a 3-3 draw by Viking Stavanger in the UEFA Champions League. The domestic championship response is emphatic.
In the standings, Munich join Dortmund at the top of the Bundesliga. Borussia could do no better than a 0-0 draw away to Union Berlin earlier in the day. First place remains provisional, however: Freiburg can seize the throne as early as Sunday with a win at Leverkusen.
