Ballon d'Or 2025: Mbappé leads reader poll ahead of Kvaratskhelia
An interactive poll launched by L'Équipe places Kylian Mbappé at the top of Ballon d'Or predictions with 34.2% of votes, ahead of Khvitcha Kvaratskhelia (24.3%) and Harry Kane (8.6%). The official ceremony will be held on October 26 in London.
Kylian Mbappé garnered 34.2% of votes in a prediction poll launched by L’Équipe among its readers, just days before the Ballon d’Or ceremony scheduled for October 26 in London.
The Real Madrid striker significantly outpaces Paris Saint-Germain’s Khvitcha Kvaratskhelia, credited with 24.3% of votes, and Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane, third with 8.6%. These are simply reader predictions with no connection to the official ballot.
Mbappé has made multiple media appearances in recent weeks to defend his candidacy. Despite a season without collective honours, he highlights his individual performances: top scorer of the World Cup, the UEFA Champions League and La Liga in the past season.
The race for the 70th Ballon d’Or in history promises to be particularly wide open, with no clear favourite commanding unanimous support. The official jury votes, composed of 100 journalists, closed on September 28. The result is being kept under seal by France Football’s editor-in-chief, Vincent Garcia, until the trophy presentation evening.
