Ariane Lipski da Silva retires after 13 years and 30 fights across UFC, KSW and PFL
Ariane Lipski da Silva, the Brazilian flyweight known as 'The Queen of Violence', has announced her retirement from MMA at 32 following a first-round submission loss to Jena Bishop at PFL San Diego. She finishes with an 18-12 professional record.
Ariane Lipski da Silva announced her retirement from mixed martial arts on Saturday, hours after suffering a first-round submission loss to Jena Bishop at PFL San Diego. The 32-year-old Brazilian, who competed professionally for nearly 13 years, confirmed the decision via Instagram and finished with an 18-12 record across 30 fights.
“Officially retired from MMA,” Lipski da Silva wrote. “Yesterday was the last time I stepped into the cage, bringing to a close a journey of nearly 13 years as a professional MMA fighter, with the privilege of competing in the biggest organizations in the world.”
Lipski da Silva first built her reputation under the KSW banner in Poland, going 5-0 and claiming the organisation’s flyweight title while finishing four of those five opponents inside the distance. That run earned her a UFC contract, where she went on to compile a 6-8 record across four years with the Las Vegas-based promotion.
Her most productive stretch inside the octagon came in 2023, when she strung together three consecutive victories over J.J. Aldrich, Melissa Gatto and Casey O’Neill. She ultimately departed the UFC on a three-fight losing skid before signing with the Professional Fighters League, where she went 1-1 — outpointing Sumiko Inaba at PFL Pittsburgh in March before the defeat to Bishop proved to be her final appearance.
In her retirement statement, Lipski da Silva reflected on both the personal cost and the broader meaning of her career, addressing the next generation of female fighters directly. “My hope is that I played a small part in creating more opportunities for the next generation,” she wrote. “More importantly, I hope the young women who are just beginning understand that they don’t have to compromise their values to become champions.”
She closed with a characteristically direct farewell: “The Queen of Violence is done.”
