Anna-Rose Lloris, 16, captivated BMO Stadium in Los Angeles on October 15 by performing The Star-Spangled Banner a cappella before the MLS encounter between Los Angeles FC and Austin. Three weeks after her birthday, the daughter of the former France captain took to a notable stage for the first time.
Hugo Lloris, LAFC goalkeeper since 2024, watched the performance from the sideline. Images show him visibly moved, alongside Anna-Rose’s mother, as applause greeted the performance.
The California club shared the sequence on its social media, where it quickly drew numerous compliments. Singing the national anthem before kickoff is a tradition rooted in North American professional sports — MLS, NBA, NFL, NHL and MLB all use it systematically — and constitutes, as such, considerable exposure for a 16-year-old artist.
On the pitch, Los Angeles won 3-1 against Austin, consolidating its place among franchises qualified for the playoffs.
